If we are Hunting Indian Reservation Land, you will need a Permit. The costs are $45.00 For Ducks and $45.00 for Geese. For Arizona Public and Private Land Hunting you will need an Arizona Hunt Fish Combo License Which Costs $20.00 per day, plus the $5.00 AZ Migratory Stamp.
Hunts: Can be from our Duck boat on the marsh, Field hunting from Layout Blinds, hike in ponds and River Hunts from Layout Blinds or Pre-Built Blinds on the bank and Lake Hunts.
What to wear: Concealment is KEY! wear all camo. No bright colors on hats or beanies. These birds are very wise by the time they make it this far south and even the smallest detail can cause these birds to flare and not commit to the decoys. No need to buy super expensive camo gear. Walmart and Big 5 Camo are just fine. If you have the expensive stuff that's good as well. If we are hunting Snow Geese on farm fields we will provide a white Tyvex suit for you to wear. We will be sitting in the decoy spread of about 1000-2000 decoys. Remember layers are very good to have because some days have big swings in temps. If you need waders we can provide them for you, just let us know your foot size, height and weight.

How your Days pan out:
We typically wake up at 3- 4am depending on where and what we are hunting. Have breakfast then leave for our hunt. Most hunts are often over by 12 noon. However if we don't have limits and birds are still flying we will stay out until we get the job done. All of our hunts are within 10 minutes to 45 minutes from the Lodge. After our Hunt we head back to the lodge for lunch and bird cleaning. Your afternoons can be spent fishing out front of the Lodge from kayaks or jon boats. ( most of the winter the river is too low for jon boats so kayaks are the way to go) We provide all the Rods, Bait and Lures. You may also wish to Quail Hunt ( Gambel's Quail) and that can be done 15 minutes from the Lodge, these are self guided, we will give you waypoints. You may also choose to ride along, after lunch, with your guide to scout for the next day's hunt, this is a great way to see the lay of the land. The lodge is located right on the river with the waterfowl rest zone directly in front ( tons of birds flying in and out all afternoon). You may choose to hang out in the downstairs bar watching sports on multiple screens, playing pool or darts, watching birds and drinking some cold ones. There is also a fire pit and heat lamps on the patio directly outside the bar. Dinner is served around 7pm.
Weather: It can get as cold as 10 degrees at the start of the hunt and warm up to 80's in November. December and January will warm up to the 50's and 60's . Layers are very important. Also hand and foot warming packets are very useful. There are huge temperature swings here so be prepared for all of it.
ARIZONA WATERFOWL
SNOWS IN THE DESERT
AFTERNOON SMALL SPREAD HUNT
During our waterfowl season be prepared for a wide range of weather. The temps can be as low at 10 degrees while we are setting up decoys and warm up to 70 degrees by 10 am. Layers are the way to go. We use Hot Hands brand of hand warmers for your boots and gloves. Wear all camo attire for any outer layer. Its does not need to be expensive name brand gear. By the time Ducks and Geese make there ay this south they are very educated and concealment becomes critical. Walmart and Big 5 gear is plenty fine. We do provide you with neoprene waders if you don't have them yourself. On our Farm Filed Goose hunts its a good idea to still bring your own waders if you have them. More time then not the ground will have moister, however a good pair of bibs and hunting boots gets the job done.
When hunting from our 21 foot 6 man Sneak box style boat on the marsh you can get a wide range of weather. One thing we can be sure of it will be cold when we are launching, can be as low as 10 degrees and warm up to 75 by 9 am. Dress in layers. you will be dry for your entire hunt. If we are lucky and have good wind expect some wind chill in that early morning. Most common birds on the marsh are, Pintail, Teal, Mallards, Canvas Back, Redhead, Merganser, Northern Shovler, Blue Bill, Gadwell, Widgeon, Golden Eye, Snow Goose and Buffle Head along with many more visitors passing through.
